Emilia Martin artistic research announcement

LOOS is delighted to announce that as part of the Makerscheme subsidy from the municipality of The Hague, Studio LOOS will soon start collaborating with the young artist - storyteller, photographer, sound artist, and writer - Emilia Martin.

Her project "Sonic Spatiality: Developing a Sound Piece and Installation" has the potential to create a whole new dynamic in collaboration with Studio LOOS concerning the combination of radio and visual art and storytelling, the connection with Dutch Heritage in this field (think Fluxus, Willem de Ridder, Wim T. Schippers) and its position in The Hague.

The local, national, and international inviting and connecting nature of the project is very strong, and LOOS Foundation strongly values it.

Social/societal engagement is one of the hallmarks of Emilia Martin's work and activities. With Radio LOOS programme maker and curator Leonie Roessler, LOOS believes she has also found the ideal mentor/mentee in this respect. Leonie Roessler's authentic work is widely known and highly appreciated internationally precisely because it combined social engagement and radio art.

Studio LOOS will support Emilia with residencies, equipment, and documentation via the LOOS Channel, Radio LOOS, and LOOS Foundation's PR and Communications department on social media and the LOOS website.
